- About two years ago, I installed a Fatter Agnus chip into my A500
- (kickstart v1.2). Before installing it, I had 512k chip and 512k fast
- ram (that is, I had a 512k ram expansion inside). Whenever I would load
- up workbench or someother utility, it would say that I have 1 meg RAM
- (in particular, half fast, half chip). After installing the Fatter
- Agnus chip, here's what happened. I could now use my PAL emulator
- (which is the main reason I installed the chip)! I still had 1 meg RAM,
- but now it is 1 meg chip ram. I no longer have fast ram, and no longer
- have a working battery backed up clock! Thus, I have the annoying
- syndrome that everything I save is done coincidentally at the same time
- (some time in 1978!!). It seems as if my ram expansion has been left in
- the dark by the allmight Fatter Agnus. Is anyone else familiar with
- this problem? Perhaps, I made an error in the installion. I find this
- unlikely, though. My computer has been working fine ever since I
- installed the new chip.
