- The problem you have is called Verticle Collapse,it is more
- common in modern t.v. sets, but i have had the same problem with
- my 1084S also. Here are a few things one can try,
- one: remove your back cover and check the vert. control "pot" for
- a broken leg,or a bad solder connection on a pot leg,if these are
- ok,look underneith the pot,on the board for a bad solder joint in
- that area. If your not handy with an soldering iron better take
- it to your dealer
-
- two: if thats not it you probably have a bad filter or condenser
- and thats definatly a dealer problem.
-
- I work at a Zenith t.v. dealer and when mine went bad i had to
- call my favorite dealers tech. for some help. The big C= is no
- longer helping dealers repair these moniters, the've stoped
- letting dealers order repair parts so if they can fix it,your
- in luck. on the other hand they will let you exchange it for a
- factory rebuilt one for about $150.00
-
- Anyway i would NOT reccomend that you continue to use it this
- way, eventually you will perminatly burn a white line in your
- picture tube, and that is not repairable,or you'll burn out your
- H.O.T.(horizantle output transistor) and cause even more damage
- to your monitor.
- Sorry for the bad news,
