- If any of you are really into seeing some cool amiga graphics, you must
- pick up the Mark Thompson jpegs called Markfilm.lha on hubcap.clemson.edu.
- Hey Mark, you've wom me. I looked at those pictures with my standard
- chip set with the public domain program called viewtek in which you should
- get to. Keep in mind that I viewed these pictures only in HAM mode with
- 352 by 480 or something. Lores, interlaced, lots of overscan. It has
- some pictures from some scenes he generated with Lightwave, Deluxe Paint,
- and quite a few other cool tools including a morphing package or two.
- Now, at that resolution, the three 24-bit pics(but in my case, converted
- to that overscan ham directly by the viewtek program) look extremely
- awesome. In standard HAM mode for the standard chip set(Mine enhaced chip)
- (doesn't matter though) I particularily like his floaty in the pool picture.
- When I viewed it, I was appauled. THe 24-bit to ham conversion would
- have most people's eyes bug out. Two things I must comment on in terms
- of neat tricks. I loved the lighting, I love what this guy does to
- water. I would swear I could (Even in my non-AGA mode) just dive right
- into that water in the pool from where I stood. The colors and the
- interlace definitely helped to give it more of a sharp look, especially
- for the outline of the pool. I happened to notice that the store
- pic he had had rain that would cause splashes in pools of water before
- I read about it in the readme file.
- --- Now from what I understand, this was animated?????? Boy ,I
- would love to see it animated. Probably would pay just to go over
- and see the thing. Now, I'm still a bit new to the rendering scene, but
- from the pics I've gotten before, this one rocks the box. Oh well.
- By the way, GET THE viewtek program from your regular ftp site. It's
- the best friend an image viewer can have. It does everything I wished
- all my other programs would do, except it doesn't covert them, it just
- views all those types. Extremely system friendly. Cool standard
- file requester, Zee works!!!.
- ------ Good work Mark and GVP.

- I usually don't read this group, but now that I'm really into coding
- 3D graphics for future amiga releases, I think I'll start reading this
- regularly. Perhaps it'll help me cool down from seeing those stills.
