- My brother is having a lot of problems getting his new Worldblazer
- to work with his Amiga. As I understand it, he has problems
- getting incoming calls, especially when talking to the modem at 19200.
- (but we THINK the Amiga serial port *should* be able to handle > 9600
- baud rates). On this side, it looks like I'm not receiving all of the
- stuff he's supposed to be sending. And problems with outgoing calls:
-
- : I don't know what's with this modem- It takes seven or eight tries to
- : get it to dial you and now it seems your system can't dial in either
- : at least someone kept trying to connect and never succeeded. I
- : eventually called you, (needing the usual number of tries to get it
- : to dial) and got a newsfeed. Could this modem be defective? It acts
- : so strangely, I wonder if it has a sensitivity problem.
- :
- : could you put out a message to see
- : if anyone else has these kind of problems?
-
- His setup is:
- #S Amiga 2000; AmigaDOS 2.1, Amiga-UUCP v1.16D
-
- I could imagine problems with the worldblazer, the serial port hardware,
- or the uucp software, but don't know enough about the specifics to help
- track it down.
-
- Does anybody know anything about these problems? Does any one
- have a similar setup working correctly?
-
- Thanks for any help you can provide!
- (have I used the appropriate amiga newsgroups?)
