- To those who may know,
-
- I am working with the new 3COM 3C509 card and decided to set it up with
- PCNFS 4.0a and Microsoft Windows 3.1 and also with using QEMM 6.02.
- If I set the card up to use the upper AT interrupts (tried 11,12 since
- I am using a Mouse Systems Bus Mouse at interrupt 10), I am able to access
- network drives via DOS 5.0 but I am unable to access (locks up) network
- drives via any of the Windows APPS such as WORD for Win or File Manager.
- So I changed the interrupt on the card to IRQ 5 and things seem to work
- just fine in Windows. I have tried both the 3c509f.com packet driver with
- PCNFS and the 3COM NDIS driver with Sun's nfs-ndis.sys file.
- I am running a Northgate Elegance 486DX/33 machine.
-
- Just wondering what may be going on since some day I would like to use the
- upper interrupts so I can put another board at IRQ 5.
