- There's an interesting column by Peter Salus in the
- Dec 1992 SunExpert magazine in which he talks
- briefly about Carl Malamud's book, "Exploring the
- Internet". Malamud relates the story about how he
- persuaded the ITU and ISO organizations to put
- their standards online for a period of three months.
- The experiment was killed because (according to
- Malamud) the ITU derives 25% of its income from
- the printing and selling of standards. The ITU also
- doesn't think (again, according to Malamud) the
- internet reaches the "right sort of people".

- it's quite interesting. Think I'll look for the
- book, too.
