  26.   Well, the MacSE serial port with ARNS would not work if the serial port speed 
  27. is higher then 9600 bps.  Thanks for the answer from David Hornsby - "Anything 
  28. above 9600 is dubious on an SE".   I set the serial
  29. port speed to 9600 and everything is working fine now.
