  24. Following the successful Workshops on Distributed Algorithms
  25. in Ottawa (1985), Amsterdam (1987), Nice (1989), Bari (1990),
  26. Delphi (1991) and Haifa (1992), the Seventh Int. Workshop on 
  27. Distributed Algorithms will be held in Switzerland in 1993.
  28.  
  29.    The workshop covers the entire area of distributed algorithms. 
  30. It provides a forum for the presentation of new research results
  31. and the identification of future research directions in this area.
  32. The workshop will be held in Zinal (Valais), a village located in
  33. the Swiss Alps (alt. 1600 m / 5300 ft) at approximately 180 km
  34. from Geneva Airport (easily reached by train+bus).
  35.  
  36.    Papers are solicited describing original results in all areas
  37. of distributed algorithms and their applications, including, but
  38. not restricted to:
  39.  
  40.   - Distributed algorithms for control and communication
  41.   - Fault-tolerant distributed algorithms
  42.   - Network protocols
  43.   - Algorithms for managing replicated data
  44.   - Protocols for real-time distributed systems
  45.   - Issues in asynchrony, synchrony and real-time
  46.   - Mechanisms for security in distributed systems
  47.   - Techniques for the design and analysis of distributed systems
  48.   - Distributed database techniques
  49.   - Distributed combinatorial and optimization algorithms
  50.   - Distributed graph algorithms
  51.  
  52.    Intended contributors are invited to submit 13 copies of an
  53. extended abstract or full paper to either of the Program Committee
  54. co-chairmen. Submissions must not exceed 15 pages with roughly 35
  55. lines/page. Submissions not conforming with these guidelines may
  56. not be considered. Please include a 150 word abstract, 5 keywords,
  57. and address, e-mail address, fax/telephone number of the contact 
  58. author.

  60.    Proceedings will be published in the series Lectures Notes in 
  61. Computer Science of Springer-Verlag. There is a limit of 15 pages 
  62. for a paper in the proceedings.
