- I found it difficult to use the 32 bit trident drivers after using Joel's
- dirvers. PM bench records a few speed increases with the 32 bit trid drivers,
- but the average response was slower, and some operations were dreadfully
- slow, such as only being 1/3rd the speed of Joel's drivers when it comes to
- opening dialog boxes and pull down menus. I'm sure that this can be
- attirbuted to Joel's skill as a programmer. The other problem I had was that
- some of the text mode fonts were particularly slow to scroll and hard to
- read in a window.
-
- In the rumor department, I here that the 32 bit trident drivers were
- written by IBM for the 2.1 release. If they were, then hey you
- IBM guys! the scrolling speed is awful on the 32 bit trident drivers.
- They scrool at less than half the speed of joel's drivers.
