  13. I just decided to post the printer problem in detail.

  15. I have Dell Dimension 486-33 system with 8 meg ram. I recently connected
  16. Epson LQ-570 printer to LPT1, and set up the driver for the printer. But
  17. if I try to print something, OS/2 says it can't write on LPT1. If I choose
  18. IBMNULL driver, it prints the first character, and says the printer is 
  19. turned off while it is not. If I select retry button, it again prints
  20. the next character, the says the printer is turned off. If I boot from
  21. drive A using dos diskette, not OS/2, the printer works fine.

  23. I checked IRQs and there is no conflict. I did everything I can think of,
  24. and nothing's working. Since the printer resets when I boot the computer,
  25. I think the cable is ok. Can anybody please help me? I have to use my
  26. printer. I even called IBM tech line, but to no avail.
