- I just installed OS/2, level XR02000. So far, I'm impressed with the
- system, and most of my DOS and Windows programs have ran without problems.
- Exceptions: Falcon 3.0 won't run, nor will some Windows 3.1 programs. Also,
- MS Word 2.0 for Windows has some quirks, due to the reduced colours available
- with the current video driver I'm using.
-
- However, the documentation with it is totally inadequate and very disappointing.
- The online help is marginally helpful. I would have been totally stuck during
- installation if not for the FAQ file on this newsgroup! I have the following
- questions:
-
- 1. How do I add directory paths to the emulated DOS path?
-
- 2. I'm using the revised Tseng 4000 video driver. However, it is inferior
- to the 24-bit Genoa driver I used for Windows previously. Is there an
- OS/2 video driver available for Genoa cards?
-
- 3. Is there a good OS 2 reference book available?
-
- 4. (most pressing) I copied the current CSD files. However, they do not
- fit on 1.4 Meg diskettes (they're 1.47 Megs each). The ".dsk" converter
- program, however, seems to require that I use different disks for
- unpacking these patches. (This seems utterly ridiculous, but I can't
- find anything contrary in the documentation). Is there a fix for this?
-
-
- Cheers,
