  10. Hopefully, someone out there can help me... I'm running a clone 486 system,
  11. 16m ram, DTC Scsi adapter with several drives, and an ATI Wonder XL video
  12. card.  Here's the problems I was having *before* installing the ServPak:

  14.  o Netware Lite and Lantastic/AI would either not work at all or
  15.    lock the entire system when run, depending on the configuration.
  16.    I'm using SMC Arcnet cards.
  17.  o My DOS communications programs (DSZ in particular) would simply...
  18.    stop transferring in the middle of a file, until the other user hung
  19.    up.  IBM told me that it's because I use a 14.4k modem and there's too
  20.    many interrupts, but other people do it.
  21.  o The system would crash from time to time, usually with a Trap 0E.

  23.  After installing the ServPak:

  25.  o Netware Lite still doesn't work, same symptoms.  I'm using NWL 1.1.
  26.  o The system crashes when I do obscure things like open DOS or OS/2 command
  27.    line windows.
  28.  o The system locks when I try and load the DTC SCSI driver, which worked
  29.    fine under the "old" version of OS/2.
  30.  o Joel A's ATI video drivers don't seem to work reliably, occasionally lock
  31.    at bootup.

  33.  I reformatted the drive before reinstalling OS/2, and switched from FAT
  34. to HPFS.  I installed OS/2, then the Servpak.  The system will usually boot
  35. without any "extra" drivers loaded, but that makes my system virtually
  36. useless to me (especially without all the drives mounted).  What am I doing
  37. wrong?  It seems that everyone else is happily using OS/2, and I've had nothing
  38. but tons of problems since day one; it's frustrating, especially since OS/2
  39. does *exactly* what I need in an OS...
