- I just found out some interesting information on the new Trident 32-bit
- drivers. Most of you have probably noticed that there are 4 files in the
- WINOS2 directory of the archive. (tri32new.exe) There is no information on
- what the difference is between the two sets.
-
- I have found the difference.
-
- wspdbf.drv Full-screen with big "stuff"
- wspdsbf.drv Seamless with big "stuff"
-
- wspdsf.drv Full-screen with small "stuff"
- wspdssf.drv Seamless with small "stuff"
-
- By "stuff", I mean buttons, menus, and other system-scaled objects. For
- instance. Running Word for Windows with the 'bf' drivers and 800x600, the
- button bar is too wide for the screen, and the last button or two is off the
- edge. Using the 'sf' drivers makes the buttons smaller, as well as the title
- bar, the minimize/maximize buttons, etc. I think a good rule might be to use
- the 'sf' drivers for 640x480 and 800x600, and the 'bf' drivers for 1024x768.
-
- If anyone has more information on the differences between these drivers, let
- me know or post.
