- martin:
-
- i have a similar set-up; for the IDE i have a 210MB rodime drive, for
- the scsi, a FD TMC-875 driving a syquest removable 44MB.
-
- your problem happened to me as well when i "upgraded" to the CSD. it
- was a little easier in my case to cope with... i only had to make
- sure that i didn't have a cartridge in the syquest drive to get it
- (the CSD) past the FDISK error, and then to make sure i disn't have
- a cartridge in the drive when booting to get past the "country.sys"
- error.
-
- the problem seems to be confined to the CSD, so relax, its not your
- system (or mine - the problem went away when i went back to GA). i
- went back to the GA (with the "PJ03686" kernel) because of other
- problems i was experiencing with the CSD.
-
- one thing i did find however was that the new "improved" version of
- the FD8XX.ADD file supplied with the CSD had some weird behaviours
- (such as causing the FORMAT D: command to die with a "integer divide
- by 0" run-time error msg), with i fixed by replacing the CSD driver
- with the driver from the GA diskettes. you might want to try replacing
- your scsi driver with the GA version, too, and see if this helps at all.
-
- sorry i haven't got a solution to your CSD problem (unless you consider
- junking the CSD a solution), but i hope at least this puts your mind at
- rest with regard to your hardware set-up. maybe the next release of code
- will sort these problems out. keep your fingers crossed...
