  12. This is the second time that I am posting my problem,  someone please
  13. help me I really need to get my machine up before I leave school and
  14. will have to download a lot of shareware via modem instead of via
  15. ethernet (BIGGGGGG Difference !).

  19. When I install the service pack, it goes fine until then end of disk 12
  20. and then I get an error like: user exit error a:\os2\fix\product.exe. 
  21. It then will only let me see the log (real useful - sarcasm) and reboot.
  22.  Of course it won't boot becuase the service pack isn't completely
  23. installed.  If I try installing it again it jumps right to installing
  24. the 12th disk and then it dies again.

  26. Stuff I have tried:
  27.     - Reinstalling the Service Pack
  28.     - Reinstalling the GA (no problems) and then the Service Pack
  29.     - Using someone else's disk 12 which worked on their machine but not mine
  30.  
  31. Does anyone know what this is?  How can I get around it?  What does
  32. product.exe do?  Did I get the bad version of the Service Pack (I doubt
  33. it)?  Is there patches for the SP for my machine (specifics below)?  Can
  34. I e-mail in my problem to IBM? If so, how? Etc. Etc.

  36. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I really like OS/2 but I'm
  37. not gonna put up with this shit much longer.  Another week or so of not
  38. having my machine up and I am going to buy Mark William's Unix and run X
  39. windows (it's actually cheaper than OS/2).

  41. My Machine:
  42.     - 35 Mhz. 368/387 with 8M (all same type and speed) RAM
  43.     - 160M Micropolis ESDI Hard drive
  44.     - ET4000 based SVGA Card and NEC 3D monitor
  45.     - Everything is in one partition (I have not needed to boot DOS
  46. since I         put 0S/2 on my machine and so I got rid of all of the
  47. partions.)
