- Since the other followups seem to have covered virtually everything else
- but Frank's question, I'll chip this bit in.

- Scientific Word from TCI Software Research Inc (Las Cruces, New Mexico)
- is a TeX/LaTeX based Windows word processor. SW imports existing TeX
- files and gives a "fancy" Windows GUI interface to editing many aspects
- of these documents. This are still a few rough edges though -- for
- example, you have to drop into TeX editing mode to handle tables and
- some other "advanced" features, but TCI say they will add direct support
- for these in future.
-
- Some people seriously dislike this program as it often bears little
- resemblance to typical Windoze word processors, some love it. Our
- Physics dep't have it and have their secretaries using it to enable them
- and the lecturers to interchange files.
