- There are a great many memory boards out there on the market.
- Unfortunately, often they are only tested quite cursorily for true
- compatiblity by their makers (i.e. instead of making it 'right' they make
- it 'good enough' (to run with major programs X, Y, Z, etc.)). They may do
- something just a little different or not at all. For a parallel example, I
- have an HP IIP printer and it always worked great with all of the software
- that I used. I started using GeoWorks Pro at home and it's famed printing
- wasn't looking to good. I assumed that it was a bug in the printer driver.
- Well after much testing, I finally got around to testing my computer's
- serial port and found out the it was defective. It turns out that all of
- the other programs that I'd used to print with didn't push the flaky
- hardware enough to expose the error.

- As always, the best place to ask is on AOL (there are a number of hardward
- and software compatiblity issues groups). You can also talk to GeoWorks
- Customer Support. GeoWorks tries to get weird hardware setups put together
- in-house so that an engineer can figure out a work around or at least
- enough information to say "This will never work because...". In general,
- this is a never ending battle due to the tremendous number of little
- companies out there doing their own things.
