- I am looking to buy a 486DX notebook computer to run Linux, and have some
- questions.
-
- 1. Has anyone used Linux successfully on an IBM ThinkPad model 700?
-
- 2. Does Linux support the Microchannel bus and, if not, is anyone currently
- working on getting Linux to work with Microchannel? Is there a Microchannel
- mailing list which would have more information?
-
- 3. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations about 486 based
- notebooks? If you are using a notebook with Linux and X-Windows, I would like
- to hear any comments or experiences.
-
- 4. The FAQ states that Linux runs on most notebooks, but is there any reason
- why Linux wouldn't run on any 386 or better notebook *without* a Microchannel
- bus?
