  13. Hi...I managed to get Linux .98pl5 up and running last night, along w/ 
  14. GCC and a few other utilities. WHat I can't get running is X8514. I've got an
  15. ATI Ultra - I believe I've set up my Xconfig file properly. However, when I 
  16. run startx, it blanks the screen, and comes back to the text screen with
  17. "unable to set default font directory "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc, ..."
  18. and it's unable to find the fixed font. (As am I ). The paths exist, but 
  19. xstart can't set the path to it...Any ideas? Thanks much....
