  12.     Ack.  I think I may be losing my mind :-).
  13. I have recently reformatted my linux disks and
  14. am re-installing .99 from scratch (to clean out
  15. all the old stuff that undoubtedly needed cleaning
  16. out) and I am having a problem that completely
  17. eludes me:

  19.     It started out that in shell scripts, a call
  20. to echo would cause a SegFault, but echo in a user bash 
  21. would work fine.  I have no echo binary anywhere on the fs 
  22. and have always relied on the built in echo.
  23.     To complicate matters, echo from my user bash 
  24. also started failing, but sporadically.  I suppose I could
  25. use this to my advantage in that I can just type 'echo foo'
  26. to logout, but I'd like to find the source of the problem 
  27. and fix it.

  29.     Does anyone have any ideas?
