  41. Actually, I hadn't seen Linus's patch at that point, so I added those lines,
  42. and it helped -- it got rid of one type of kernel panic.

  44. Now the system boots, inits everything, and then attempts to mount /dev/hda1,
  45. which is a minix filesystem, and it panics.  Magic numbers don't match or
  46. something like that (I apologize for not being able to report the actual
  47. message, but I'm in the lab, not in my dorm room :-).  Kernel panics and
  48. dies, leaving no diagnostic messages.  I don't have any other filesystems
  49. compiled into the kernel except /proc.

  51. Has the fs code changed *significantly* between versions?  My fs was set up
  52. using SLS 0.98.1 disks.

  54. If anyone else has run into this, then drop a line.  This is almost out of my
  55. range.....
