- Thanks to the people who responded. Of course, a1.Z is a compressed file.
- Not being a Unix buff (yet!) I thought of tar, but not uncompress. It
- threw me that on the MIT site a2 was not compressed but a1 was. I'm not
- sure of the thinking behind this, but maybe the non-unit novice should
- be warned. The beginner's notes mentioned rawrite, but not the PC version
- of uncompress (I used another unix platform for uncompress).

- now on, for some more serious linux questions.
