  18. Hmm, XT patch? I have two st412 compatible controllers (both 16bit) :

  20.  1) MFM 1:1 interleave HFDC-6V which has no switches nor bios + floppy
  21.     controller. (one seagate st-251 attached)

  23.  2) RLL 1:1 interleave DTC 7187, which is jumpered to secondary IO adresses.

  26. I'd like to get these babies working with linux (dos not needed:), how can i
  27. accomplish this?

  31. I have also third drive which is smaller and like use it also and put it in
  32. first controller which is MFM and use those 'bigger' ones (st251 is such a
  33. beast:-) with secondary controller (RLL), is this possible?

  35. Notice that only the RLL (DTC7187) can be switched to other IO address and has
  36. a bios in it and it has no floppy part..

  38. I tried with those 2 drives both in secondary RLL controller and bios or
  39. something complained at bootup something about of primary drive not existing.

  41. Linux doesn't see second drive at current configuration, dos fdisk sees it but
  42. when i tried to partition it, it only got wicked (funny sounds).

  44. So, i think that first job is to fix hardware, i seen general postings about
  45. this and i wonder if i need to change interrupt from secondary controller
  46. or just 'multiplex' them with diodes?

  48. If separate interrupts are needed what should i do? should i cut int14 from
  49. second controller and connect it to int15? anything else?

  51. Or should i leave both on interrupt 14 and put diodes in them? how so i do
  52. that? by cutting int14 line and putting diode between (anode towards card and
  53. kathode towards bus?) ?? and 10k pulldown resistor to other? (from kathode to
  54. ground?)

  56. Next i would like to know what i should do with linux kernel to get those
  57. supported? (anybody done it?)

  60. More notices: to get those working this far i was forced to use secondary
  61. controllers own bios configuration with secondary drive, so only first drive
  62. is in machines own bios setup. ( i think that this must be done also if i ever
  63. want more than two drives working )

  65. Please help, i'd really like to get linux running again.
