  12. I've seen a few announcements posted to comp.os.linux
  13. that wern't crossposted to comp.os.linux.announce. Unless
  14. there are objections, I'd like to just snarf these articles
  15. and repost them to c.o.l.a as I run across them. If the new
  16. group is going to work, we need to get the announcements into
  17. it. Agreed?

  19. We're also contemplating splitting comp.os.linux and 
  20. comp.os.linux.announce completely, to reduce bandwidth (since 
  21. currently I crosspost everything from c.o.l.a to c.o.l as well). 
  22. I've been assured that there IS a Fidonet gateway that can be 
  23. used for comp.os.linux.announce, and all that it would require 
  24. would be to configure it and make it available, so the
  25. Fidonet people wouldn't get duped.

  27. Any suggestions or comments about these things? If we don't
  28. crosspost everything between c.o.l.a and c.o.l, it would save
  29. a lot of bandwidth and diskspace for those systems that are
  30. tight on diskspace. And since there is apparently an easy way
  31. for Fidonet to pick up the new group, I think it's an okay
  32. idea. Of course we'd wait until comp.os.linux.announce 
  33. propagates more completely.
