- Thanks for the help in getting finger working (the solution seems
- simpleminded, but I didn't realize finger had to be in /usr/local/bin, so
- I made the sym-link.)
-
- Anyways, now I can't get talk to work, and I really don't think I had
- it working before even though I inadvertently said I did. I ftp'd the
- current binaries of talk, including ytalk, talkd, and ntalkd.
-
- My problem seems to be the same in ytalk and talk. The daemon can't
- recognize the machine of the other user, even if the user is on the
- same machine (since I am not really networked, this is all I want to
- do.) My nameserver is working fine (e.g. it works with finger, telnet,
- and ftp).
-
- Do I need to add talkd and ntalkd to the rc.net file? I don't think
- so. I added the correct lines to both the inetd.conf and services
- files. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is the last
- problem I would like to iron out...
