- If you don't follow comp.os.linux, why do you think you should suggest
- changes to it? I assume that you don't read comp.os.linux because WE
- JUST HAD A VOTE ABOUT SPLITTING AND THE MAJORITY SAID THEY DIDN'T WANT
- TO SPLIT!
-
- Actually, that's not quite true, the group comp.os.linux.announce did
- get support, and it was created on Monday and seems to be working
- well.
-
- If you want to discuss splitting comp.os.linux, come back in about six
- months. It ain't gonna happen before that (there is a six month delay
- between votes for one group, just so that we don't have to suffer from
- repetetive votes and newsgroup politics). I have a feeling that those
- who try to start discussions about splitting c.o.l will get shouted
- down...

-
- Use a threaded newsreader, if you aren't doing that already. Use
- kill-files. Skip threads with uninteresting subject lines. Read
- comp.os.linux.announce. Read Linux News. Don't add to the noise if
- you can avoid it.
-
- I guess I could read everything that comes to c.o.l daily in about 15
- to 30 minutes using the above techniques. I don't, because I go
- through everything trying to find things for Linux News (and because I
- want to), although I don't read everything with the same interest.
