  11. the cirrus logic chipset in the boca card is not et4000 compatible.  the
  12. word is that it is very fast (faster than the wd chipset in the diamond
  13. speedstar24x)  i wouldn't buy a trident.  get a fast et4000 like the
  14. speedstar vga 1m (about US$135).  an s3 based card will be more like us$240.
  15. the cirrus logic chipset has integrated 24bit DAC for truecolor, and has
  16. been chosen by ibm and compaq for some of their new systems.  it might not
  17. be long before linux supports this chipset.  there is a new version of the
  18. s3 chipset (89c928) that is _very_ fast (nth graphics advertises 40M
  19. winmarks) don't know if it is shipping yet.  ati graphics pro is fast (27M
