  12. I am wondering which software and procedures can be used to
  13. maintain a big xaliases file (initially around 5000 persons),
  14. to have generic mail addresses Surname.Name@org.kuleuven.ac.be
  15.  
  16. A few of the things I am thinking of that should be possible :

  18. - decentralized updates (not by end users themselves)
  19. - possibility to maintain coordinates like Name, generic
  20.   E-mail + mapping to one primary and more secondary addresses,
  21.   campus address, Tel and fax, ... maybe other things ...
  22. - make the above information query-able
  23. - checking with * personnel database
  24.                 * userids on machines
