  17. One of the joys of having a successful language, a language whose user
  18. base is doubling every nine months or so, is that the vast majority
  19. of C++ programmers are new C++ programmers.  I am happy to answer a few
  20. simple questions, and get new people pointed in the right direction, 
  21. in exchange for being able to program in a widely successful and
  22. available language.

  24. A better question would be why all the new C++ programmers have to put
  25. up with all the inapplicable esoterica brought up by the auld time
  26. C++ hacks ;-)
