- I assume that you mean Landsat, rather than LANSAT; if so, you have a
- problem - there are about 30 different formats that this data is shipped
- in (nothing like standards to make life easy...). Basically this large
- number of formats came about because there are a number of Landsat data
- acquisition/processing sites, and each used different hardware and software.
- Add to this a number of different satellites, different sensors and a suite
- of different products and you start to see the problem.

- You should be able to get format descriptors for the common formats in
- the US from either the USGS at Reston, Va., or from NSSDC (at GSFC) in
- Greenbelt, Maryland.
