- If I want to just delete every instance of a character string and
- replace it with absolutely nothing, I just press the meta key when I'm
- prompted for the replacement string. This works fine if that's the
- first time I've done a replacement. But that doesn't work if I've
- done a replacement before during that emacs session, in which case
- just pressing the meta key acts to accept the previous replacement.
- How can I do such a search and replace in that case?
