- Great Wall Tower of Babel Multi-Lingual Usenet News Reader
- and Stereo Bilingual Synchronous Audio Tape Production System.
- An unregistered trademark of G.O.D.S.B.R.A.I.N.
-
- If I keep asking questions about this and continue to get so
- few responses I may turn it into a monthly faq.
-
- Need to shorten the name. How about GBM = Great Babel Maker.
- Anybody else using that name or acronym?
-
- It could be called the G.O.D.S.B.R.A.I.N. Terminal.
-
- A good promotional movie could be called:
-
- THE G.O.D.S.B.R.A.I.N. CONNECTION
-
- What does it do?
-
- It is a vending machine. You put in cash, coin, your debit
- card or credit card.
-
- It deducts Expenses, Taxes, Tithes, Fines and makes change.
-
- As an example, if you insert a dolar bill to get phone
- change and it determines that you have an outstanding
- parking ticket and not enough money in your account,
- it grabs your finger and will not let go until a
- policeman comes to release you.
-
- Some models have a photocopier, fax machine, OCR, "Hot
- Canned Soup, Sandwich, and Soda Dispenser"
-
- It is connected to a pay phone.
-
- It takes your Blood Pressure, Pulse, etc. and
- automatically makes a doctor's appointment
- based on an Artificially Intelligent Diagnosis.
-
- It is for use in hospitals, schools, temples, churches,
- police stations, train stations, bus stations, courts
- of justice, gas[petrol] stations and fast food stores,
- whore houses, bars, pool halls, night clubs, libraries,
- prisons, almost anyplace in the world or the Universe[ity].
-
- You insert a floppy disk with your ascii, or other format,
- data file. First be careful to protect your ascii.
-
- It asks you what is the source language?
-
- It asks you what is the target language?
-
- It asks you how fast you want the speech output?
-
- It reads you your rights and tells you your daily
- school assignment, an hour-o-scope - this being
- the view of heaven from your location at the present
- time -, whore-o-scope [adults only], and how to
- navigate from here to there.
-
- It asks you test questions regarding your previous
- day's school assignments.
-
- It prints certificates of your General Educational Development,
- GED and IQ.
-
- It prints your resume.
-
- It gives you bus tickets and grocery cuepons.
-
- It prints an Inter-Linear text of your daily study text.
-
- It is a printer for daily class assignments.
-
- It outputs a stereo bi-lingual audio tape of the daily
- lecture with background music. There are to be several
- language output modes including, word for word, phrase
- by phrase, and sentence by sentence.
-
- You insert your audio tape and it recycles and rerecords it,
- or if damaged, will sell you a new one and recycle the old
- cassette.
-
- It will also output data disks, and video tapes.
-
- Language options include two of: your mother tongue, the
- official language of the geographic region in which the
- machine is located, the language of the speaker of the
- original source text, the language that you would like
- to learn, the language of your professor or guru, or
- the language choosen for you by G.O.D.
-
- How many have thought that they would live to see the
- day when the common man could walk up to G.O.D., insert their
- Social Security Card, and receive an instant dispensation --
- -- In Cash? --
-
- Now back to the present moment and the more specific question
- to the ibm.pc.soundcard newsgroup:
-
- If you have a Sound Blaster, or other card, that can do
- text to speech, can you output the text to speech to
- a sound file? How?
-
- How do you set up time synchronization in text files
- such that the resulting text to speech output sound
- files will be time synchoneous when sound output in
- stereo?
-
- How do you then output the two sound files simultaneously
- on two stereo channels using my Sound Blaster or someone
- else's other speech card?
-
- In other words, is that all this talk about wav, and voc
- and mod, etc. sound files.
-
- My Sound Blaster card does text to speech in English but
- have any of you working in other parts of the world been
- able to get a sound card to speak something other than
- English. Like German or Chinese for instance. Spanish?
- Hebrew? Russian? Sanskrit?
-
- I need information on how the Multi-Media, Virtual Reality,
- and SIGGRAPH people are handling the control of two head
- mounted video displays simultaneously such that both eyes
- would see the image of a tree in the top half of the field of
- vision and one eye would see chinese text in the bottom half
- and english text in the other?
-
- Lastly, since I am unemployed, out of money and need a
- place to stay while I await processing of my Social
- Security Disability Claim for back injury, chronic fatigue
- syndrome, and carpal tunnel syndrome, I am looking for a
- place to sleep with my sleeping bag, bum some food, and
- find a free internet connection.
-
- Merry Christmas,
