  12.     I'm interested in buying a good (cheap), but fast modem.  I have read
  13. recent posts which suggest that the BOCA modem is a decent choice.  Is the 
  14. real UART 16550 being used in the internal card?  Does it matter?  I may be
  15. leaning towards the external version so that I can effectively use it on 
  16. different machines with minimum hassle.  I can live with the additional $50
  17. for that, but is it an advantage/disadvantage to have an external for any
  18. other reason?  I would appreciate any thoughts on the subject.  Thanks.
