  12. I am working on a project at LLNL that requires the rapid retrieval
  13. of geographical data. We plan to store the data using an object oriented 
  14. database system and mass storage.
  15. We need a two dimensional indexing scheme such as Rtree to find the data
  16. for a specified area. Does anyone know of some existing software that
  17. runs on Unix or have some references to some recent algorithms for
  18. developing such software?
