-
- CAM is just an abbreviation for comp.archives.msdos and there is no
- such group alone. The names are
- comp.archives.msdos.announce (moderated)
- comp.archives.msdos.d (this newsgroup)
-
- The binary postings are in comp.binaries.ibm.pc just as before and
- will continue to be there moderated by Brian O'Neill. What we call
- CAM.announce for short is comp.binaries.ibm.pc.archives and that is
- where the program availablity from MsDos FTP sites announcements are
- posted by the moderators. These two are quite separate, and have
- nothing to do with each other as such. (Brian is also a
- co-moderator of CAM.announce and we cooperate in many other
- respects, too, but this does not change the setting).
-
- If you wish to discuss CBIP aspects, the right place to do it is in
- comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d. If you wish to look for a missing CBIP
- posting, the right place is comp.binaries.ibm.pc.wanted.
-
- If you wish to discuss programs on the MsDos FTP sites, or problems
- with connecting to the sites, wish to review the programs on the
- said sites, etc, then comp.archives.msdos.d, that is this very
- newsgroup, is exectly the right place.
-
- I will be sending out a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) to CAM.d
- and CAM.announce each Saturday, and I already did so as the first
- posting to both the groups the 15th. They will give you more
- information on our "CAM" groups.
-
- We are at premiliary stages. So far all has gone well. So feel
- free to ask away, just as you did.
-
- All the best, Timo
