  13. The discussion forum for Statistics Education is available by e-mail
  14. subscription or as a UseNet News newsgroup (bit.listserv.edstat-l).

  16. This message is sent out on a monthly basis and provides an overview
  17. of some of the more important guidelines arrived at by the members of
  18. the list, not merely the owner:

  21.   The following  guidelines have  been agreed  upon by  the membership  of this
  22. list, and it is hoped that you will respect them:
  23.  
  24.     1) Postings should be directed to  more than one person; messages which are
  25.        clearly of  value to  only one (or  just a few)  members should  be sent
  26.        privately.
  27.  
  28.     2) No individual should post more than twice per topic in a 24-hour period.
  29.  
  30.     3)  Postings should  contain the  real name  of the  sender, either  in the
  31.        header or the body of the message.
  32.  
  33.     4) Personal attacks and insults are prohibited.
  34.  
  35. Share your comments, thoughts, questions etc. with list readers by
  36. sending your e-mail message to the address:
  37.         EDSTAT-L@NCSUVM.cc.ncsu.edu

  39. Send questions about the list itself, comments, suggestions and
  40. criticisms to me, Tim Arnold (arnold@stat.ncsu.edu).

  42. You may leave the list at any time by sending a "SIGNOFF EDSTAT-L"
  43. command to LISTSERV@NCSUVM.cc.ncsu.edu. Please note that this command
  44. must NOT be sent to the list address (EDSTAT-L@NCSUVM.cc.ncsu.edu) but
  45. to the LISTSERV address (LISTSERV@NCSUVM.cc.ncsu.edu).

  47. The amount of acknowledgement you wish to receive from this list upon
  48. completion of a mailing operation can be changed by means of "SET
  49. EDSTAT-L REPRO" which will insure that you receive your own postings to
  50. the list.

  52. Contributions sent to this list are  automatically archived. You can obtain a
  53. list of the  available archive files by sending an  "INDEX EDSTAT-L" command to
  54. LISTSERV@NCSUVM. These files can then be  retrieved by means of a "GET EDSTAT-L
  55. filetype" command, or using the database search facilities of LISTSERV. Send an
  56. "INFO DATABASE" command for more information on the latter.

  58. Furthermore, these log files are edited into quarterly files--only the
  59. highlights of the discussions are kept.  These quarterly files will be
  60. available soon, hopefully by December at least.

  63. Introduction  guide", which  you can  retrieve  by sending  an "INFO  GENINTRO"
