  11. I see ads in papers for "reconnections", with companies offering "free
  12. reconnections" or "we pay you xxx pounds to reconnect your mobile phone
  13. regardless of history, yes, regardles....."

  15. What exactly is a "reconnection"  ??  I figure these companies take
  16. cellphones from people who didn't pay their cellphone bills, and give
  17. them back to the owners, re-enabled, as long as the owners sign a direct
  18. debit or something like that.  Is that about right ?

  20. These ads are obviously very shady.  What exactly is the scam here ?
  21. Clearly if they "pay you to reconnect your phone", they have some way
  22. of stealing the money back.  But if I'm right and they just want a direct
  23. debit, well, what's the point of a direct debit on a bank account of
  24. someone who has already proved himself a deadbeat ?

  26. What is the scam they use to reconnect banned phones to the networks ?
  27. Do they change the id chips or something ?
