- Interesting thread......I have a friend who prefers to be called Thomas.
- Well, as you would guess, after introducing himself as Thomas, some
- would inconsiderates would call him Tom. His patented response still
- cracks me up. He would look right at them, and in a deadpan voice, say
- *don't forget the ass!*. People never made the same mistake twice.

- It's interesting to note the effect of people using their more 'formal'
- names. A lot of people considered Thomas to be stuck up, just
- because he insisted on being called Thomas. Have any of you noticed
- similar stigmas?
