  34. We should do both.  Do good deeds -- work with those who need to be
  35. helped.  But that's what we've always done, and it won't suffice by
  36. itself.

  38. Pocketbook issues are noticed MUCH faster than good deeds.

  40. As for the whole morality of a boycott thing:  I've seen good
  41. arguments on both sides.  But I can't overlook history.  In Louisiana,
  42. David Duke was voted down in large part because the rest of the
  43. country threatened to turn the state into the backwater it was acting
  44. like.

  46. Like it or not, boycotts often work.  And they work faster than other
  47. measures.  Which means the pain is over quickly, instead of dragging
  48. on for years.
