- According to an article that appeared in the Colorado Daily earlier this
- semester it is illegal. It is considered defacing currency. The article
- talked about an individual who paid his tuition in one dollar bills
- that he had stamped with a slogan. The bank involved stated that they
- are required to remove from circulation every note that is stamped
- written or otherwise marked. Those involved had no intention of arresting
- the guy but they did say it was not legal.
