  33. According to an article that appeared in the Colorado Daily earlier this
  34. semester it is illegal. It is considered defacing currency. The article
  35. talked about an individual who paid his tuition in one dollar bills 
  36. that he had stamped with a slogan. The bank involved stated that they
  37. are required to remove from circulation every note that is stamped
  38. written or otherwise marked. Those involved had no intention of arresting
  39. the guy but they did say it was not legal.
