  24. Several people have pointed out with varying degrees of
  25. polite exasperation that I don't do this.  My arse-over-tip
  26. news setup doesn't support it.  Short of typing the
  27. references in by hand it's impossible.

  29. However.  To rectify this situation, if all goes well, I am
  30. getting a new computer, a new modem, new news software and,
  31. shortly, a new news feed.  The whole caboodle will cost me
  32. about two thousand pounds.  I *hope* you're satisfied.

  34. Oh, and it should cope with MS Word, too.  And Simearth.

  36. In fact, that computer and its bits will be the most
  37. expensive thing I own, apart from the flat and the car. 
  38. I'm surprised to feel quite guilty about such a massive
  39. expenditure.  It seems almost obscene to spend so much
  40. money just on something for fun.
