- Certainly no such effect in my case. But neither prunes nor
- figs are softeners for me, either. I eat a lot of dried
- fruit (figs, raisins, prunes, apricots) and fresh fruit
- (apples, oranges, grapefruit, pears, bananas), 1.5 quarts of
- OJ a week, lots of whole-grain bread, assorted vegetables
- (mostly raw), quite a bit of pasta, a moderate amount of
- seafood, and *really* a lot of dairy.
-
- Each week: 2.5 gallons of 2% milk, 1.5 quarts of half&half
- (for the corn flakes, yum), 1.5# cheese, 2 quarts of yogurt,
- and 2 quarts of ice cream. No butter, to speak of (about a
- pound a year, and that only when cooking for others).
-
- Quite a bit of *real* peanut butter, a small amount of olive
- oil. A couple eggs a month. Meat once in a great while
- (pepperoni pizza, chorizo quesadillas, a chicken breast
- sandwich).
-
- 1.5 quarts of double-strength coffee every day. 20 Camel
- short, unfiltered cigarets, every day. Sex, *almost* every
- day (suisex, of course). Sleep: 5.5-6.5 hours.
-
- I've never been a cheap date in the food department; thank
- goodness for a high rate of metabolism: 6'2", 163#.
