- Here at NYU's on site blood donation center, the only questions asked in the
- interview process are about your medical history, although a lot of them are
- about AIDS symptoms. When you are actually hooked up for transfusion, you
- are given a totally confidential form to complete which explains the risks
- of multiple partners, gay sex, drug users, etc. and asks that if you fall
- into one of these categories that you designate your blood for research only.
- I don't exactly know what they do with "research only" blood, but certainly
- no one would be turned away from donating on the basis of sexual orientation
- alone.
-
- And we never get free movies tickets...its usually just tacky t-shirts
- which are never in my size anyway. But the juice and cookies make it all
- worthwhile!
