- From reading European papers and watching Italian tv news,
- it seems that the German government has been more worried
- about its image abroad than actually effectively countering
- the violence. That neo-nazis enjoy special sympathy in
- ex-Eastern Germany is commonly reported. On the other hand,
- most of the organizers actually are from Western parts of
- the Germany.
-
- By the way, someone high in the German military said he'd
- make sure that the military's reputation is not tarnished
- by neo-nazis and everyone with any connection with neo-nazi
- groups would be fired.
-
- The anti-not-us (us = anything different from us) sentiments
- are unfortunately in rise in Europe in general. The refugees/
- immigrants from Baltic States to Finland surfaced anti-foreigner
- sentiments in Finland. The headlines talked about "mafia run by
- russians/Estonians".
-
- In Italy, in the local election in some Northern province
- neo-nazi party gained majority.
-
- I think for things to stay under control, the European countries
- MUST address the hatred with a united and strong voice.
