- Our library uses all kinds of devices to delay or decline access
- to library users and to people who work in the library system.
- In this case is it is documentation on the operation or organization
- of the library. Archives of the institution should be collected
- as anything else and managed for access in accordance with those
- good principles about which we all know. But one can find that in practice
- those good priciples are compromised by well meaning types who can
- use tactics of all kinds to make more out of what would only be an effective
- way to learn about the library, it's history and organizational
- culture.
-
- Try asking at your own library for things like a manual and an organization
- chart.
-
- What response do you get just for asking to understand more effective
- and efficient ways to use existing library system programs?
-
- What kind of supervision and training is available to encourage
- your interest in the other parts of the library system?
