  16. One of the things I really dislike about the writings of Camille
  17. Paglia, is her expressed disgust for the female body; for example,
  18. calling female genitals "ugly."

  20. However, I do not feel any more comfortable with expressions of
  21. disgust for the male body. One is the home I live in, the other
  22. the home of those I love...
  23.  
  24. In particular, I read a quote from Germaine Greer in a popular 
  25. magazine. They were quoting from her book on the menopause.

  27. I forget the exact words attributed to her; but basically, she
  28. was saying that she did not have sexual relationships with
  29. men her own age, because their bodies were too disgusting.
  30. Some talk about fat, skinny, pot bellies, gray hair, bald, etc. --
  31. I don't remember the exact words she used, I don't remember
  32. what her preferred alternative is (women, younger men, herself,
  33. sheep) but the tone of disgust was unmistakable. She wasn't
  34. just expressing her preferences, she was implying that the
  35. people whose bodies she did not prefer were repulsive.

  37. Well, maybe this lady was quoted wrong, but if she was not --
  38. how dare she talk this trash and call herself a feminist!

  40. Being particularly interested in women's issues does not 
  41. allow us to emotionally abuse other humans, just because
  42. they are men!
