- I would say that we love it. I mean Cyrillic. Maybe the proudness
- is coming from that love. And if a man knows a little bit from our history,
- it is easy understandable why we love Cyrillic. Shortly and generally:
- 1. Christianity and Cyrillic helped Bulgaria to became a country
- with one religion, one writing system. Cyrillic helped to translate Bible
- in understandable language for the ordinary people. It was in 9th century.
- 2. Christianity and Cyrillic helped Bulgarians to survive the
- Ottoman rule and to save nation's spirit. My persomal opinion is that there
- are others reasons also, but this is different topic.
