- All good advice. Also, buy a good supply of Dr Scholl's foot pads and
- mole skin, and heavy NYLON, olive drab socks. You can get them at most
- surplus stores. Do whatever you need to do to smuggle them past personel
- effects inspections. Put them in your pockets or shaving kit. You
- will be issued WOOL socks and nylon screen footpads. These are crap.
- Throw them away. They will blister your feet in no time. Before any long
- hike, armor your feet with the moleskin, put the pads in your boots, and
- wear the nylon socks. Never ask any questions, or assume that you will be
- rewarded for doing anything. Always DO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD, NOTHING MORE,
- and NOTHING LESS.
