  31. The G6 is a superb weapon, but I suspect WRT to range the NCO was pulling
  32. your leg. Unfortunately I can't go into particulars, but if you consider
  33. the number of 45 and 52 caliber 155mm systems on the market today, all
  34. claiming a range of 40 km +/-, any vendor with 5 km more range would
  35. have an edge in a very competitive market and would advertise that fact.
  36. If ARMSCOR didn't their less-than-scrupulous licensee Cardoen surely
  37. would.

  39. Another telling factor is the fact that you mention the tube elevation was
  40. less than "the ballistically optimum 45 degrees." In fact, because of the
  41. differences in atmospheric density with altitude, the real world
  42. ballistically optimum elevation is actually about 53 degrees. So the G6
  43. had its tube at an elevation substantially lower than that necessary for
  44. maximum range.
