- 1. Allow me to add my 2-cents worth. IMHO, as a submariner who plays
- the "opposition forces" during fleet exercises--and with my community
- prejudices possibly showing--I agree with those who say that the
- shallow-water SSK threat is non-trivial. _All_ my unclassified
- reading indicates the difficulty of the problem: this does not
- mean impossible--just difficult. And, again, as a submariner,
- maybe I'm just prejudiced.
- 2. As is more and more apparent, in naval warfare as on the land,
- no _single_ weapon or platform is alone the equal of the effective
- use of the others working together.
